Liz Randon

I am a recent graduate from University of Edinburgh with an English Literature MA (Hons) degree. Throughout my studies, my focus was towards the arts and creative writing, contributing film reviews to student publications and taking screenwriting classes with Screen Education Edinburgh.

As the director of SPC at JUMPCUT, I have had the privilege to work with incredible talent and among a passionate group of people. It has been an invaluable experience in understanding the film industry by learning firsthand.

With a background in theatre and acting, and an interest in songwriting, cinema for me is a combination of many different artistic elements, and my passion is in seeing it all come together. After the first film I wrote and directed won 5 awards within the university, I began to see filmmaking as a potential career path. I am now assisting with research and organisation for the upcoming Year of Natural Scotland Film Festival, which will begin this August.
